Campagne villes du niveau mondial POUR TOUS - Afrique du Sud

Le document de la campagne et la plateforme des demandes qui seront présentés aux municipalités

StreetNet est en train de solliciter la coopération des organisations intéressées à se joindre à sa campagne de villes du niveau mondial pour tous (WCCA) en Afrique du Sud, dans la quelle StreetNet est en train de contester l'approche traditionelle élitistique de bâtir  "les villes du niveau mondial" en préparation de la coupe du monde de FIFA en 2010 - et demande de créer un concept nouveau, plus inclusif de "villes du niveau mondial pour tous" avec la participation des vendeurs de rue et d'autres groupes du pauvre urbain. La campagne mettra beaucoup d'accent sur les femmes et d'autres vendeurs vulnérables qui sont les premiers à prendre leurs sources de revenus, et les plus invisibles dans la plupart des plans des villes du niveau mondial.

17th- 19th March, 2009: National Campaign Meeting: World Class Cities for All (WCCA) held at the Parktonian Hotel  Johannesburg, South Africa.

March 6th, 2009: WORLD CLASS CITIES FOR ALL (WCCA) CAMPAIGN - PRELIMINARY MEETING WITH MUNICIPALITY OF Mbombela.

November 2008: The World Class Cities for ALL campaign is making very interesting process as we are now engaging into the third campaign stage, namely the negotiations with the municipalities. In November, a World Class Cities FOR ALL! campaign delegation met with two of the FIFA Cup Host SA Municipalities: Cape Town on Nov 8th and Johannesburg on Nov 22th. 

Each meeting was preliminary to the negotiation process, in the sense that it introduced the campaign purpose and objectives, tabled the demands, and discussed a way forward for the negotiation. The WCCA delegation presented a proposal for a Stakeholders' Forum (linked to demand no 6) to serve as the basis for discussion of how to engage more systematically.
