It is with sadness that StreetNet announces the passing of their Administrator, Felicity Isaacs (61) who was called to rest on Friday, 19 October 2012, after she had suffered from a long-term illness. Affectionately known as Flick, she joined StreetNet in 2009 and was fondly remembered as a positive, caring, independent person who was passionate about the causes she was involved in.
She started out her career at Diakonia Council of Churches where she worked with the young workers and was employed for around 15 years. Flick was also involved with the anti-apartheid struggles. Paddy Karney, retired Director of Diakonia Church recalled how committed she was, working with the community. She also assisted other various organisations. “When she worked with the young church workers, it changed her perspective on life as it required her to view and analyse everything she saw. This helped her with the causes she was involved in. She had been a great friend and we will miss her,” he said.
Flick has left a void at StreetNet and times spent with her will be cherished. We pass our heartfelt condolences to her friends and family.
