With the establishment of the Provisional Coordinating Committee, one can say that a significant milestone has been accomplished for the creation of the National Alliance of street vendors, informal market vendors and hawkers in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC).
The seminar organised in Kinshasa in the DRC capital, which was held at the Rehabilitation Center for the Physically Disabled from 22nd to 24th of August 2013, brought together three national trade union centres (UNTC – CSC – CFDT), the national union of vendors of Congo (SNVC) and two affiliates of StreetNet in Congo (LDFC – ASSOVACO).
