Food Safety Day 2023

Why are street vendors agents of food safety?

They are the ones selling accessible food to the most vulnerable communities, especially in urban areas. Despite this central role, the vendors are often subjected to violence and harassment in their workplace. The lack of labour rights can have a detrimental effect on the quality of the food and the service. Caring about food safety means caring about the health and safety of street vendors, too!

Our campaign

For World Safey Day 2023 we have collected a few pictures from our affiliates, who have shared images of their typical street food and colorful markets. We present some examples below 👇🏾👇🏼

We invite 💌you to join in the festivities by sharing your favorite snapshots of typical street vendor foods. Whether it’s a mouthwatering hot dog, a delicious tamale, or an ice pop, we want to see it all! 📸✨
Here’s how you can participate:
1️⃣ Take a picture of your favorite street food.
2️⃣ Tag us or mention us in your post.
3️⃣ Use the hashtags #sni #WFSD2023
