68 Comrades of Sindicato Unificado de Locatarios de Mercados de Honduras and FOTSSIEH lost their stalls and mechandises in a fire

Vilma Arévalo, Treasurer of FOTSSIEH, informed StreetNet that on March 2nd, approximately at 3:30 a.m. Honduras Time, a fire in the market of Barrio El Centro started. According with the firefighters report a reheating cable problem would be the posible cause. In less than 30 minutes, the fire consumed 68 stalls and merchandises of 49 women and 19 men street vendor comrades, affiliated to Sindicato Unificado de Locatarios de Mercados de Honduras SULMERH and also to FOTSSIEH. The affected comrades met with the Major in order to find an inmediate solution. The municipal authority said that the reconstruction of the market will be finished in one year.
